The Shepherd Watches
Every night I read to Lucas from his Bedtime Prayers book.
The Scripture verse:
The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.
Psalm 121:8 (NLT)
The Poem:
I come and I go.
I'm fast and I'm slow.
But I'm never, ever along.
I run and I play.
I sit and I stay.
But I'm never, ever alone.
I jump up and down.
I spin all around.
But I'm never, ever alone.
My Shepherd is there-
He's everywhere,
And that can be written in stone.
The Prayer:
Dear God, that you for watching over me wherever I go.
*****
This reminded me that The LORD watches over Lucas while he asleep.

A Prayer For My Little Boy
Lord, may a healthy fear and knowledge of You be the foundation upon which my son builds his life and future.
May he turn to You for all decisions so that he doesn't make poor choices.
Help him see that all the treasures of wisdom are hidden in You and that You give of them freely when we ask for them.
As he seeks guidance from You over the years, Lord, pour it liberally upon him so that all his paths will be peace filled, his life will be blessed, and his future will be bright.
The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and His righteousness to children's children, to such as keep his covenant, and to those who remember His commandments to do them.
Psalms 103:17-18

Lucas' First Birthday
Lucas' birthday was last Wednesday, November 9. Kealan took the day off and we took Lucas to the Hands On Museum in Johnson City.
The grocery store was Lucas' favorite area to play in at the museum. He pushed the shopping chart around for about 30 minutes.
That evening we went to my Mom's house for a family party.
Lucas had more fun playing with the paper and bags.
Saturday we had another party. We had family and friends come over the celebrate Lucas.

Cades Cove
Sunday we took our annual trip to Cades Cove. I didn't take any pictures of the trees because A) Lucas was out the car seat sitting in my lap and B) since we do go every year ALL the pictures of the trees, old houses, and churches end up looking the same.
